CNN, MS NOW and Politico sue to restore White House access
The three news organizations, which were banned from White House grounds by President Trump, are arguing that the ban is unconstitutional.

Washington — CNN, MS NOW and Politico announced Monday that the news organizations are suing the Trump administration over President Trump's ban of the news outlets from the White House, arguing the ban was unconstitutional on First Amendment grounds.
Mr. Trump said Friday in a Truth Social post that he was barring CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House , in the Trump administration's latest move to target news outlets for what he views as disfavorable coverage.
In a joint statement on Monday, the three news organizations said they are suing to immediately restore access after they were denied entry on Saturday and had their press passes revoked.
"There could not be a more direct assault on the First Amendment," the legal motion from the news organizations said. "Presidents from the earliest days of the Republic have disagreed with and complained about the tenor and content of press coverage of their administrations."
Mr. Trump posted on social media on Monday morning that the White House "is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish. It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America." He also wrote in a separate social media post, "FAKE NEWS IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY, and I will do whatever is necessary to make sure that the U.S.A. thrives."
