TikTok Investors Set to Pay $10 Billion Fee to Trump Administration

Investors including Oracle, Silver Lake and Abu Dhabi’s MGX are paying about $2.5 billion upfront to the Treasury Department, with additional payments bringing the total to roughly $10 billion. The fee is part of an agreement through which these investors gained control of TikTok’s US operations from ByteDance, while a new majority American‑owned joint venture secures US user data and algorithms.
