One of the things I enjoy doing is researching and coming up with new startup ideas. It’s fun to brainstorm and imagine what could be. Of course, there’s a big gap between ideation, execution, and ultimately building a successful company. For many people who want to be entrepreneurs, there’s a natural feeling that the idea needs to be perfect. The reality is, it’s hard enough to find a great idea, let alone a perfect one. A great starting point is simply talking to people. Reach out to friends, mentors, and colleagues and ask them what they would like to see exist in the world, in their home, or in their business. What frustrates them? What takes too much time? What do they wish worked better? One of the best ways I’ve found to discover new ideas is to start doing something new yourself. Pick up a new hobby.
